Sana’a University Faculty of Medicine Commences First-Phase Exams for Pioneer MD Program

SANA’A – June 6, 2026 — The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University officially commenced the first-phase, part-one examinations today for postgraduate students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine (MD) clinical program. The exams are a core component of the program’s approved academic curriculum and a key milestone toward specialized clinical certification.
The computer-based testing (CBT) included multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering several advanced medical specialties: Dermatology, Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery, Otolaryngology (ENT), Urology, Orthopedic and Joint Surgery, and Ophthalmology. This initiative reflects the faculty’s strategic focus on expanding subspecialty medical education and preparing a highly qualified healthcare workforce in accordance with international academic and professional standards.
Sana’a University’s clinical MD program is the first of its kind in the Republic of Yemen. It represents a qualitative leap in postgraduate medical education by providing an advanced academic and clinical training pathway designed to certify physicians across various clinical specialties using modern, rigorous scientific methodologies.
