Higher Education Minister, Sana’a University President Unveil Historic Overhaul of Medical Labs and Pathology Museum

SANA’A — June 13, 2026 — Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Hassan Al-Saadi and Sana’a University Rector Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti conducted a high-level inspection today of the newly modernized Pathology Museum and infrastructure upgrades across the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. They were accompanied by Dr. Abdulhafid Thawabah, Vice Rector for Medical Affairs, University Secretary-General Iskandar Al-Maqaleh, and Medical Dean Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari.
Project leads Engineer Abdulhakim Shamsan and Prof. Adam Al-Suraihi briefed the delegation on the advanced diagnostic equipment and cataloged specimens integrated into the facility. This project represents the first comprehensive, top-to-bottom reconstruction of the university’s medical laboratories and pathology museum in over 30 years, designed entirely to mirror elite global scientific specifications.
Minister Al-Saadi highly praised the execution of the modernization project, calling the state-of-the-art labs a testament to the university’s commitment to transforming clinical education infrastructure.
Rector Al-Bukhaiti reaffirmed that the university leadership will continue to fund and expand medical school facilities. He emphasized that these facility upgrades are vital benchmarks in Sana’a University’s strategic push to secure international institutional accreditation from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). Dean Al-Shehari added that the pathology lab and museum are transformative assets that will solidify the faculty’s role as a regional leader in medical research.
