Department of Journalism and Electronic Publishing at Sana’a University Holds Public Presentation for Graduation Projects
The Department of Journalism and Electronic Publishing at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Sana’a University, organized a public session to present the graduation projects of the department’s 31st class. The session was chaired by Prof. Ali Al-Ammar, Head of the Department, under the auspices of Dr. Omar Da’er, the Faculty Dean.
During the presentation, the department’s students presented their graduation projects, which consisted of two electronic websites: “Nawafeth” (Windows), supervised by Prof. Ali Al-Ammar,
and Dr. Abdu Al-Akwa’, Assistant Professor of Digital Communication and Investigative Narrative; and “Atyaf” (Spectra), supervised by Dr. Jamal Saylan, Assistant Professor of Electronic Journalism.
In the presentation session for the two projects, which addressed societal issues and delved into the depths of the Yemeni countryside and its suffering for the first time, Prof. Ali Al-Ammar, commended the students’ graduation projects, describing them as a distinguished achievement in difficult times.
Mr. Al-Ammar expressed his pride and delight in the creativity of the students who designed and produced the content for both websites themselves, resulting in media products that fall under multimedia and hypermedia journalism, deserving of transformation into sustainable journalistic projects.
He pointed out that the projects were distinguished in terms of ideas, innovation, diversity, and effort, in addition to addressing unique topics that they handled and dealt with well. Through these projects, the students demonstrated their ability to address various societal issues using different types and forms of journalism supported by digital media.
Mr. Al-Ammar called for strengthening partnerships with media institutions and linking the department and faculty with the labor market by inviting journalists and media professionals to participate in discussing and evaluating graduation projects and selecting a number of outstanding graduate students for training and absorption into various media institutions to refine their skills and apply them in practice.
