Faculty of Mass Communication Holds Graduation Project Presentation: “It’s Just a Prank, Bro” Film Explores Social Issues
Today, Sunday, at Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University, a graduation project presentation was conducted for one of the groups from the “Eye of Truth” cohort. The project was a dramatic film titled “It’s Just a Prank, Bro”, which blends comedic and tragic elements to deliver a set of significant social messages.
Among the critical issues addressed in the film is the deprivation of women from inheritance, a widespread phenomenon in Yemeni society. The film also highlights the theme of injustice,emphasizing that no matter how tyrannical or arrogant a person becomes, their ultimate fate is demise, and their injustice towards others will be of no benefit.

The presentation was attended by a distinguished group of filmmakers, media professionals, and prominent directors in Yemen, including:

– Dr. Sameer Al-Afeef
– Director Ibrahim Al-Abyadh
– Esteemed Artist Fathia Ibrahim
During the session, the guests commended the film’s concept, its visual treatment, and the profound messages it conveys.
The presentation committee, attendees, and guests, along with a large number of students, also praised the high standard presented by the team and the significant efforts they invested in producing this meaningful film. They specifically noted the performance of the actors, particularly the director and actor Abed Maghdi, who demonstrated remarkable talent and creativity in acting and embodying the characters.
The team was awarded an excellent grade of 98%, in recognition of their artistic work and the purposeful message they delivered
