Faculty of Mass Communication Hosts Practical Photography Workshops
The Faculty of Mass Communication at Sana’a University recently organized two practical photography workshops for third-year Public Relations and Advertising students. The sessions, held separately for male and female students, are a core component of the “Media Content Production” course taught by Dr. Hatem Ali Al-Salhi.
These workshops reflect the Faculty’s ongoing commitment to integrating practical training into the academic curriculum, ensuring students gain hands-on experience alongside theoretical study.
During the sessions, Dr. Al-Salhi introduced the fundamental concepts of photography within the PR and advertising sectors. He emphasized the critical role of imagery in constructing communication messages and enhancing the visual impact of promotional campaigns. The lecture also covered various shot types, camera movements, and the strategic mechanisms for employing these techniques in professional media production.
The practical segment of the workshops was led by Mr. Hussein Sharaf Al-Deen, who provided students with intensive training on:
– Executing different shot compositions and framing.
– Mastering seamless transitions and sequences during filming.
– Selecting optimal camera angles and movements to suit specific media contexts.
This initiative is part of the Faculty of Mass Communication’s broader strategy to enhance students’ technical skills and prepare them for the evolving demands of the professional media market.
