Admission Policy
The University Council approves the Application and Admission Policy annually based on the recommendations of the faculty councils and the Students Affairs Council and getting the policy approved by the Supreme Council of Yemeni Universities. The policy specifies the admission conditions and requirements, required admission documents, application and admission dates, admission capacity, and High School average grade required for both the general and self-financing systems. The application, admission, and registration procedures are carried out as follows:
A- General System:
The application and admission process in the General System is conducted based on the following criteria:
Applicants must hold a high school certificate (scientific or literary section) or any other equivalent certificate with a minimum GPA of 70%.
A high school certificate is deemed valid by the university for a maximum duration of 4 years after high school.
Applicants should obtain an Entrance Test Card. The student must report to the examination hall at least one hour before the scheduled exam time.
Applicants must take a competitive entrance test in the following subjects: Arabic, English, and personal interview.
The average score on the entrance test is calculated based on 30% for the High School Average Grade (or any equivalent certificate), and 70% for the entrance test result.
Results are announced to applicants through a list in descending order according to the average score in the entrance test.
Accepted applicants are shortlisted based on the highest average score on the entrance test and according to the specified number allotted to departments and programs in the faculty’s admission capacity.
The admission policy includes any other conditions approved by the department and faculty councils and concerned university councils.
B- Evening Parallel System:
The Application and Admission Process is conducted in the Parallel System based on the following criteria:
Applicants must hold a high school certificate (scientific or literary section) or any other equivalent certificate with a minimum GPA of 60%.
A high school certificate is deemed valid by the university for a maximum duration of 4 years after high school.
Applicants should obtain an Entrance Test Card. The student must report to the examination hall at least one hour before the scheduled exam time.
Applicants must take a competitive entrance test in the following subjects: Arabic, English, and personal interview.
The average score on the entrance test is calculated based on 30% for the High School Average Grade (or any equivalent certificate), and 70% for the entrance test result.
