Oil and Gas Engineering

Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources

Mission

The Department of Petroleum Engineering seeks to provide high-quality educational programs, training and research activities. And to graduate students with the skills required to compete at the local and regional levels with the education required by the petroleum industry with the latest technologies. As well as participating in the development of the country and finding national, international and community solutions to environmental issues related to the petroleum industry.

Department objectives:

  1. Providing students with the principles of various sciences, especially oil and gas engineering, and providing them with the latest experiences, in addition to improving their computer skills by using computer programs necessary to simulate the oil reservoir and improve production.
  1. Providing students with the necessary skills to communicate within a team and to be productive within society.
  2. Providing students with the technical and scientific skills capable of working in various oil and gas fields.
  3. Developing the skills and capabilities of academic staff and attracting qualified competencies to join the department.

5. Enhancing the confidence of society and oil and gas companies with our outputs.

Brief Description of The PNGE Program at Sana’a University

Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering (PNGE) Program of the Faculty of Petroleum & Natural Resources at Sana’a University covers formation evaluation, reservoir engineering, drilling engineering, well completion, well treatment and diagnosis, and production engineering. Besides that, the Program requires a good knowledge of other related disciplines, namely geophysics, petroleum geology, petroleum project economics and management, engineering safety, etc.

Undergraduate programs of the PNGE provide students with a range of educational opportunities by which they will achieve competence in major branches of Petroleum Engineering and Geosciences.

In order to qualify for graduation in Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering (PNGE) (Bachelor of Science) students must complete 137 credit Hour’s requirements courses as follow:
