The Dean’s Message :

The Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources is one of the newly established faculties at Sana’a University. It was incorporated upon the University Rector’s Resolution No. (385) in 2019 to be a distinguished scientific edifice that would effectively contribute to achieving the University’s mission and meeting the needs of the local, regional and global markets by providing distinguished educational, scholarly and community services.  The Faculty was established after upgrading the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Science into an independent faculty and transferring the academic staff of the department to the newly formed Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources. The Faculty now includes three departments, the Department of Petroleum Engineering, the Department of Earth Sciences, and the Department of Environmental Sciences, in which three bachelor programs are offered. The Faculty looks forward to founding new departments and programs in its future plans. In addition, the Faculty continues to provide two master degree programs in Earth Sciences and Environmental Sciences, which have been taught in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences in the Faculty of Science for nearly three decades. In addition, a number of doctoral theses are registered at the Faculty.

In order to conduct the educational process in a distinctive way, the Faculty is keen to have qualified teaching and administrative staff. The Faculty also seeks to provide an appropriate educational environment and all possibilities that assist in building the capabilities of our students and facilitating their academic achievement in accordance with the vision and mission of Sana’a University. In addition, the Faculty aims to cooperate with local community institutions in order to meet their needs through its qualified graduates who will contribute effectively to the national development and compete significantly in global markets, in both academic and technical fields.

All of these efforts would not have been achieved without the success granted by God and the support we received from the presidency of Sana’a University. Therefore, I would like to seize this opportunity to express my deepest thanks and gratitude to, the Rector of Sana’a University and all his noble deputies for their continuous support, constant guidance and efforts to remove all obstacles facing the Faculty, which is still in the stage of incorporation.
