Signing a memorandum of understanding between Sana’a University and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to complete the closed gym and turf the university’s football field
Today, at the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the secretariat of the capital, Sana’a, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the University of Sana’a regarding the completion of the closed gym project and the turfing of the university’s football field. It was agreed to form a joint work team of specialized engineers at the university and the ministry to prepare technical studies and the estimated cost of the required works. The project document is prepared in preparation for submitting it to a public tender in accordance with the procedures stipulated by the law. The funding contribution for both parties will be determined in light of the estimated cost of the results of the technical studies and according to the available capabilities and resources. With regard to the turfing of the university’s football field, it was agreed that the joint work team will study the proposed alternatives for the stadium site, including It meets the technical requirements and standard and legal standards for football stadiums and allows for the possibility of developing the stadium in the future. This memorandum represents the full understanding between the two parties of the subject of the agreement and is valid for a period of six months from the date of its signing.
The memorandum was signed by Professor Dr. Al-Qasim Muhammad Abbas, President of the University, on behalf of Sana’a University, while it was signed by Dr. Muhammad Ali Al-Muwalad, Minister of Youth and Sports, on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
During the signing ceremony, the new minister stressed the importance of completing the construction of the closed gym at Sana’a University, as it will play a role in promoting youth and sports activities at Sana’a University. He explained that the university includes a wide segment of young people enrolled in its colleges as they are part of the youth targeted for care and attention in the priorities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. While Professor Dr. Al-Qasim Abbas praised the directions adopted by the born minister and his appreciation for the care he gives to the youth embraced by the university, he expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Youth and Youth Welfare Fund to the university during the past years to develop the infrastructure of sports facilities and stadiums, and his aspiration to establish a broad partnership with the ministry, related to developing curricula. It is worth noting that the signing of this memorandum comes within the framework of cooperation and integration between Sana’a University and the Ministry of Youth and Sports to complete the closed gym project and grassing the football field at the university, which is funded from the Ministry’s own resources represented by the Youth, Youth and Sports Welfare Fund, and because it will have a distinguished role in promoting sports activities. And the youth sector at Sana’a University, which includes a wide segment of young people enrolled in its colleges and research and scientific centers, whose number reaches approximately one hundred thousand students, male and female, as part of the youth targeted for care and attention and in the priorities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Government of Construction and Change program and a strong tributary of the national teams.
