Sana’a University President Meets with Minister of Civil Service to Follow Up on Joint Committee’s Work Progress

Sana’a – Tuesday, October 7, 2025 (Rabi’ Al-Thani 15, 1447 Hijri)
Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, met today with Prof. Khalid Al-Hawali, Minister of Civil Service and Insurance, to discuss the progress of the joint committees between the two sides and to review the tasks accomplished during the past period.
Minister Al-Hawali welcomed the University Rector and the accompanying delegation. The meeting began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs, after which the minutes of the joint committee were reviewed, with the Minister praising the efforts made and the tangible achievements accomplished so far.
Then, the University Rector commended the outstanding cooperation from the Ministry of Civil Service, stressing the importance of continued coordination to finalize files related to regularizing the status of academic and administrative staff and updating the university’s database and organizational structure.
The meeting addressed several important files that have been completed, including updating data in the civil service portal, regularizing the status of individuals appointed from other entities, completing procedures for those with interrupted service, and submitting the university’s academic needs according to the standards set by the Ministry.
Both sides agreed on a set of concrete implementation steps, including:
– Completing the review and update of records in the Civil Service database to ensure accuracy and integrity;
– Finalizing the status adjustments of employees appointed from other institutions in coordination with relevant authorities;
– Following up on the financial adjustments of appointees who have received approvals and financial disbursement directives from the Ministry of Finance;
– Expediting the resolution of absentee cases in accordance with legal procedures;
– Completing the update of the university’s organizational structure to align with academic and administrative needs; and
– Holding a subsequent meeting to review the final reports of the joint committee and assess progress.
During the meeting, the University Rector affirmed that “the continuous cooperation between the university and the Ministry of Civil Service directly contributes to improving administrative and academic performance and helps accelerate the completion of files in a way that serves the interests of both the academic staff and students.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized their commitment to continuing coordination and joint cooperation to enhance the efficiency of academic and administrative performance at Sana’a University and to achieve the public interest.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Muta’a, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs from Sana’a University; and Mr. Ali Al-Kebsi, Undersecretary for the Wages Sector, and Mr. Al-Ezzi Al-Hotami, Undersecretary for the Oversight Sector from the Ministry of Civil Service, along with several administrative and technical officials from both sides.
