Acting Prime Minister Inspects the Capabilities of Sana’a University’s Electronic Testing Center

Acting Prime Minister Mohammed Mohammed Meftah, accompanied by Dr. Hatem Al-Dois, Vice Minister of Education and Scientific Research, and Mr. Hadi Ammar, Undersecretary of the Ministery for Basic Education Seector, today inspected the ongoing supplementary examinations for general secondary school students from the Capital Secretariat (Sana’a city) and Sana’a Governorate being administered at the Electronic Testing Center of Sana’a University. They also reviewed the center’s capabilities and the electronic services it provides to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the examination system.
They were received by Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, and the center’s management.
The Acting Prime Minister and his delegation were briefed by the Rector on the center’s facilities, components, and services. He explained that the Electronic Testing Center at Sana’a University is the first and largest center of its kind in Yemen, comprising 47 examination halls equipped with 1,714 computers, enabling it to accommodate approximately 8,570 students during daily operating hours.
Prof. Al-Bukhaiti noted that the center serves various faculties of Sana’a University and is used to administer university admission examinations, tests for applicants seeking free scholarships, supplementary examinations for general secondary school students in the Capital Secretariat and Sana’a Governorate, as well as proficiency examinations for master’s and doctoral students. It also administers admission examinations for the University of the Holy Quran and its Sciences, as well as the examinations of the Public Authority for Science and Technology, in addition to hosting interuniversity scientific competitions among Yemeni universities.
He further explained that the center has been equipped according to modern technical specifications and features an integrated system for verifying examinees’ identities through cameras connected to the computers, in addition to 60 general surveillance cameras, thereby enhancing the organization, security, and reliability of electronic examinations.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Acting Prime Minister and his delegation commended the development of Sana’a University’s infrastructure and educational and technological projects, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in improving university services, saving time, effort, and costs, and enhancing academic and administrative performance in a manner that strengthens the university’s standing among modern and advanced higher education institutions.
