Sana’a University Rector Receives Acting Minister of Agriculture to Enhance Partnership in Agricultural Education and Research

Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, Rector of Sana’a University, received Eng. Ammar Al-Kareem, Acting Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources, to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the University and the Ministry in academic education and scientific research, to advance agricultural education and support national sustainable development priorities.
The meeting focused on a number of issues aimed at enhancing the performance of the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, including the modernization of laboratories and research facilities, the revision and development of academic programs and curricula, and the development of practical training. Discussions also focused on plans to transform the University’s educational farm into a leading center for agricultural training, scientific research, and applied learning.
Eng. Ammar Al-Kareem underscored the importance of broadening the strategic partnership between the Ministry and Sana’a University to capitalize on the University’s academic expertise and research capabilities in addressing the challenges facing the agricultural sector. He further emphasized the need to align graduation projects and scientific research with national agricultural development priorities and production needs, while keeping pace with scientific advancements and labor market demands.
Then, the University Rector reaffirmed Sana’a University’s commitment to strengthening agricultural education and reinforcing its role in preparing highly qualified national professionals. He also announced the University’s intention to establish a joint coordination committee to review academic curricula, organize practical training programs and field visits, and expand scientific and technical collaboration between the University and the Ministry in support of agricultural development objectives.
