Sana’a University Livestock Students Conduct Field Trip to Risabah Farm

In line with the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment’s commitment to advancing experiential learning and bridging academic instruction with industry practice, third- and fourth-year students from the Department of Livestock conducted a field trip to the Risabah Farm for Agricultural and Animal Production in the Jahran District, Dhamar Governorate. The visit was supervised by Mr. Jamal Al-Qudami.
The field trip provided students with a hands-on learning opportunity to observe modern livestock production techniques and gain practical insights into the management and operation of commercial production farms, translating theoretical knowledge into applied professional skills.
During the visit, students examined cattle herd management protocols, focusing on the Friesian breed, as well as nutritional programming, healthcare practices, and handling techniques designed to maximize production efficiency. Additionally, they inspected the machinery, equipment, and processing lines utilized in dairy production and processing.
The guided tour also covered the management of agricultural land dedicated to green forage production, underscoring the vital role of an integrated feed supply chain in sustaining livestock production.
This initiative is part of a broader series of academic and field-based activities hosted by the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment. These efforts aim to enhance students’ practical capabilities, prepare them for the workforce, and support sustainable development across the agricultural and livestock sectors.
