Field Training for Crops and Genetic Improvement Students at the Faculty Farm

As part of the field training program for students in the Department of Crops and Genetic Improvement, and within the practical activities aimed at reinforcing hands-on learning and linking theoretical knowledge with field application, department students conducted a field visit to the faculty farm under the supervision of Mr. Ibrahim Al-Mazal.
The training covered livestock identification, management, and care procedures, alongside the principles and standards used in selecting quality herds and the essential traits required in livestock to ensure high productive efficiency.
Students also received practical instruction on herd maintenance strategies and the importance of providing appropriate nutrition, healthcare, and environmental conditions to improve livestock production and safeguard animal health and safety.
Additionally, the session introduced modern milking techniques and proper practices that ensure hygienic and safe milk extraction, emphasizing the importance of sanitation and correct animal handling during the milking process.
The visit contributed to strengthening students’ practical skills and expanding their knowledge in livestock production, supporting the integration of different agricultural fields and enhancing their ability to apply theoretical concepts to field operations.
