Department of Agricultural Engineering and Modern Technologies Conducts Training Course on Residential Solar Power Systems Design and Installation

SANA’A — The Department of Agricultural Engineering and Modern Technologies at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, Sana’a University, conducted the first segment of a specialized training course titled “Design and Installation of Solar Energy Systems” on Thursday. This initial session focused on electrical fundamentals and the practical design and installation of residential solar power setups.
The initiative aligns with the faculty’s strategy to strengthen hands-on learning, advance students’ practical skills, and bridge academic theory with field application, ultimately preparing qualified professionals to engage with emerging technologies in renewable energy.
The training featured comprehensive practical exercises, including assembling electrical circuits, measuring key parameters, calculating load requirements, and accurately sizing solar panels and battery banks. Participants also evaluated panel efficiency, calibrated inverter settings, and completed the hands-on assembly of an integrated residential solar energy system.
This program is part of an ongoing series of practical workshops organized by the department to elevate technical proficiency and equip students for career opportunities in renewable energy and modern technological applications.
