Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms. Firdaws Al-Harazi in Cybersecurity

Ms. Firdaws Mansour Ahmed Al-Harazi was awarded a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity for her thesis titled “A Deep Learning-Based Security Model for Detecting Privilege Misuse,” which was submitted to Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology- Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Monday, August 11, 2025, corresponding to Safar 17, 1447 Hijri.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
Prof. Malek Nasser Al-Jabri, Main Supervisor and Member.
Prof. Abdulwasea Mohammed Al-Azzani, Internal Examiner and Chair.
Assoc. Prof. Jameel Rashed Qaid, External Examiner and Member.
The thesis aimed to detect privilege misuse in organizational systems. The thesis achieved a number of findings, including detecting privilege misuse by employees within institutions with a success rate of 99.10%.
The thesis concluded with several recommendations, including integrating artificial intelligence with blockchain technology to prevent the misuse of privileges.
The thesis was examined and recommended by the Viva-Voce Committee for acceptance and approval. The defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, and interested individuals, in addition to the candidate’s colleagues and family members.
