The University Rector’s Message

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of Sana'a University—Yemen’s first and foremost academic institution. Since its establishment in 1970, the University has proudly carried the torch of enlightenment, playing a pivotal role in the dissemination of knowledge across our beloved nation. Our graduates have reached every city and village, contributing significantly to the fabric of our society.

Guided by its clear vision, profound mission, and steadfast commitment to achieving its strategic goals, Sana'a University has assumed a pivotal role in promoting a culture of innovation and academic excellence. Through its twenty faculties and more than twenty-five scientific and research centers, the University offers over 7,000 academic courses, which have undergone significant revision and modernization in recent years to align with contemporary educational methodologies and market needs. This has necessitated a comprehensive review of our curricula and programs to ensure the graduation of highly qualified professionals capable of meeting the demands of the local labor market and contributing distinguished cadres to regional and international workforces.

Embracing this pioneering role, the University is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of quality and academic accreditation. These diligent efforts culminated in Sana'a University's successful attainment of national institutional and programmatic academic accreditation in 2025. The University is currently pursuing international accreditation for its Medicine and Surgery program from the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and for its Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Computer & Information Technology from ABET, in addition to international accreditations for the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Dentistry.

Recognizing the paramount importance of information technology in streamlining operations and improving efficiency, the University has automated its examination systems and integrated all student affairs application processes through the “SAR” Electronic system, which saves both time and effort. Parallel efforts are underway to automate postgraduate administrative services, easing access for those pursuing advanced degrees. The University is also enhancing its technological infrastructure by connecting all facilities via fiber-optic networks, in tandem with the deployment of modern platforms and programs to better serve students, faculty members, and administrative staff alike.

In conclusion, I extend my heartfelt wishes for continued progress and prosperity to our esteemed university, rightly regarded as the “Mother of All Yemeni Universities.” I also express my sincere hopes for success and fulfillment to all our students, faculty members, and staff in their academic journeys and future aspirations.
