Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms. Zahraa Mohammed Ahmed Rajeh in Information Technology

Ms. Zahraa Mohammed Ahmed Rajeh was awarded a Master’s Degree in Information Technology for her thesis titled: Secure Authentication in Smart Home Environment Using (SGX) and Biometrics, which was submitted to the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology– Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
| # | Committee Members | Designation | Position |
| 1 | Prof. Ammar Thabet Zahari | Internal Examiner | Chair |
| 2 | Prof. Sharaf Abdulhaq Al-Hamdi | Main Supervisor | Member |
| 3 | Assoc. Prof. Jameel Rashid Qaed | External Examiner | Member |
The study aimed to enhance security within smart home environments.
The main findings of the study lied in the development of a highly secure model for protecting user identity in smart homes. The proposed model employs modern techniques for encrypting biometric data, utilizing a one-time iris recognition authentication algorithm
In light of such findings, the researcher recommended the following:
- Expanding and integrating the proposed model with other biometric technologies, such as fingerprint or facial recognition systems.
- Investigating the feasibility of migrating processing operations from the home control unit to edge computing, enabling services for an entire residential complex rather than a single household.
The defense session was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
