Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms. Nesma Yahya Al-Matari in Information Technology

Ms. Nesma Yahya Al-Matari was awarded a Master’s Degree in Information Technology with distinction for her thesis titled: Blockchain-Enhanced Model to Empower Spectrum Access Security in 6G Cognitive Radio-Driven IoT Networks, which was submitted to the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Computer and Information Technology – Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Monday, December 15, 2025.
The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:
| # | Committee Members | Designation | Position |
| 1 | Prof. Adnan Yahya Al-Mutawakkil | Internal Examiner | Chair |
| 2 | Prof. Ammar Thabet Zahari | Main Supervisor | Member |
| 3 | Assoc. Prof. Farouq Abdo Al-Fuhaidi | External Examiner | Member |
The study aimed to design and evaluate an integrated and enhanced blockchain-based security model to strengthen spectrum access security in sixth-generation cognitive radio–based IoT networks, by integrating spectrum sensing, trust management, and advanced cryptographic techniques within a unified architecture capable of operating efficiently in hostile environments.
The study demonstrated that the proposed model achieves a high level of security, efficiency, and reliability. It improves spectrum-sharing fairness, detects malicious users effectively, and enhances trust among network entities, which establishes its suitability for future 6G network applications.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended:
- Extending the model by integrating machine learning and deep learning techniques.
- Implementing the model on real blockchain platforms.
- Conducting practical experiments in large-scale and diverse environments to support the development of intelligent and secure communication networks.
The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
