Application and Admission

 

The applicant can apply for the Bachelor of Data Science program through the Electronic Application Portal for Yemeni Universities, which can be accessed at the following link: https://oasyemen.net. In order to meet the eligibility requirements, the applicant must have completed a high school degree in the scientific section within the past six years. The admission requirements differ depending on the study system the applicant chooses. We offer three distinct study systems, which are as follows:

  1. General System:

Minimum High School Average Grade: 78%.

Admission Capacity: 10 male students and 10 female students

Tuition Fees: Free

Activity Fees (annually): 11,600 Yemeni rials for the first level, then 4,500 Yemeni rials for the remaining levels.  

Entrance Exam: After applying through the Electronic Application Portal for Yemeni Universities, the applicant will receive a text message to their phone number containing information about the electronic entrance exam, which will be held at the Electronic Testing Center in the Faculty of Dentistry. The applicant should arrive one hour before the scheduled exam time. The exam will cover the following subjects: Arabic (10%), English (30%), and mathematics (60%). The final selection score is calculated based on 30% of the high school average grade and 70% of the entrance exam result. The results will be announced through the Electronic Application Portal for Yemeni Universities and will be listed in descending order based on the selection score.

  1. Parallel System:

Minimum High School Average Grade: 70%.

Admission Capacity: 38 male students and 38 female students

Tuition Fees: $875 after a 30% discount at an exchange rate of 250 Yemeni rials (equivalent to 218,750 Yemeni rials)

Activity Fees (annually):  11,600 Yemeni rials for the first level, then 4,500 Yemeni rials for the remaining levels.

Entrance Exam:  Not applicable. Applicants can register directly after submitting their application. Registration will remain open until the program reaches its capacity.

  1. Self-Financing System:

Minimum High School Average Grade: 65%.

Admission Capacity: 25 male students and 25 female students

Tuition Fees: $1,500 at an exchange rate of 250 Yemeni rials (equivalent to 375,000 Yemeni rials)

Activity Fees (annually):  11,600 Yemeni rials for the first level, then 4,500 Yemeni rials for the remaining levels.

Entrance Exam: Not applicable. Applicants can register directly after submitting their application. Registration will remain open until the program reaches its capacity.

System of Study and Graduation Requirements

The program follows an academic year system, requiring a minimum of four years (eight semesters) to complete. Each academic year consists of two semesters.

Upon successful completion of 134 credit hours through full-time attendance, the student is awarded a bachelor’s degree in Data science. Throughout their studies, the student attends both theoretical lectures and laboratory classes, which are held at the university campus—the building of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technology.

The unified system for student affairs in Yemeni universities applies to students enrolled in the bachelor’s program in Data Science.
