Inclusive Development Research Center Holds a Specialized Course on the Methodological Use of Development Terminology

The Inclusive Development Research Center (IDRC) held a specialized academic course on Sunday, 20 Sha‘ban 1447 AH, corresponding to 8 February 2026, entitled “The Methodological Use of Development Terminology in Scientific Research.” ,It was delivered by Dr. Khaled Al-Akwa. The course was organized as part of the Center’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of scientific research and to strengthen researchers’ methodological skills.
The course aimed to enable researchers to use development terminology accurately and critically by clarifying the distinctions between terms, concepts, and theories, and by addressing common conceptual problems and errors found in academic research. It also focused on practical mechanisms for integrating terminology into research problems and theoretical frameworks, thereby contributing to methodological coherence and raising the overall academic quality of research studies.
The course targets postgraduate students and researchers in the fields of social sciences, economics, international development, and public policy who possess a basic background in research methodology and seek to further develop their research tools in line with rigorous scientific standards.
The IDRC emphasizes that this course is part of its academic programs dedicated to supporting researchers and advancing research practices in the field of development studies. It plans to offer a series of upcoming courses aimed at assisting researchers in producing high-quality and methodologically sound academic work.
