Personal Statement:     

 

I hold a Ph.D. degree in Educational Sciences, specializing in the effectiveness of vocational and technical education in Yemen. Currently, I work as a research scholar/faculty member at Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, Sana’a University. Throughout my career, I have authored numerous publications and research papers, while also taking on supervisory roles and contributing to the design of various training guides and kits. These resources aim to foster the development and enhancement of performance skills for educational leaders and teachers across different specializations within Ministry of Education’s curricula and courses. Furthermore, I have gained experience in designing long-term, medium-term, and short-term strategic execution plans and visions for local and regional institutions and organizations. Additionally, I have actively participated in various conferences, seminars, and workshops at the local, regional, and international levels.

 

Qualifications:                                                                                                         

– Ph.D. in Education Sciences, Tunis University, 2002, with a thesis titled “Effectiveness of Vocational and Technical Education System in the Republic of Yemen.”

– MA degree in Educational Technology and Learning, Eastern Michigan University, USA, December 1983.

– Bachelor’s degree, Faculty of Education, Mathematics and Physics Department, Sana’a University, 1980.

Current Positions:

– Vice-Director for Quality Affairs at the University Scientific and Research Centers.

– A faculty member at the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, Sana’a University, specializing in Professional Training and Development.

– Serving as an Academic Accreditation and Quality Representative for Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.

– An Advisor for Vocational Education and Training at Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training.

– Dean of Higher Institute for In-Service Teacher Training and Development, Ministry of Education, 2003-2012.

– Assistant Permanent Delegate of Yemen to Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) based in Tunisia, 1997-2002.

– Director-General of Translation and Documentation at Yemeni National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science (YNCECS), 1994-1996.

– Assistant Director-General at Education Office in Al-Mahweet Governorate, 1992-1994.

– Advisor and General Coordinator for Mathematics at Ministry of Education, 1989-1994, including the following activities:

  • Acted as a member of the evaluation committee for personal articles of teachers and supervisors in mathematics.
  • Served as the head of the committee responsible for developing educational programs in mathematics, intended for secondary and elementary certificate levels. Actively engaged in creating and delivering these programs through televised platforms.
  • Participated in conducting training courses for newly graduated teachers and novice supervisors during and before service as part of Teacher-to-Teacher Project.
  • Worked as a teacher and later as a mathematics supervisor for preparatory and secondary stages, 1984-1989.

 

Conferences and Workshops:

 

– Attended regular conferences and meetings of ALECSO (Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization) in Tunisia during my tenure as a Permanent Delegate, 1997-2001.

– Participated in an educational scientific mission (seminar) held in the United Kingdom for one week in October 2006. The objective of the mission was to gain insights into the training and educational supervision practices employed in the UK.

– Participated in a ten-day discussion seminar titled “Culture of Peace for the Peoples” held in Beirut in 1997. The seminar was funded by UNESCO-Paris.

– Participated in a week-long discussion seminar titled “Role of School Administration in Educational Process” held in Doha in 2004.

– Attended multiple seminars and discussion sessions on education, culture, and sciences organized by Yemeni National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science (YNCECS), during my role as Director-General of Translation and Documentation, 1994-1996.

 

Research and Scholarly Papers:

 

– Authored a book titled Strategic Vision for Vocational and Technical Education Future in Yemen in 2004. (under publication)

– Co-authored a collaborative research paper titled “Identifying Professional Training Needs for Faculty Members at Sana’a University in line with Academic Accreditation and Quality Requirements,” published in Higher Education Studies Journal, Volume (5), Issue (9), 2017.

– Prepared a concise summary of my doctoral thesis titled “Effectiveness of Vocational and Technical Education and Training System in Yemen, published in Al-Thawabit Journal, Issue (37), July 2004,  and also featured in Educational Research and Studies Journal, Issue (19), 2005.

– Supervised and participated in authoring numerous training guides and kits aimed at developing professional skills and performance for teachers and educational leaders in various academic and vocational specializations, funded by Yemen Education and Professional Development Partners.

– Designed strategic execution plans (short-term, medium-term, and long-term) for Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) based in Tunisia, as well as for Information Technology Center in Higher Education and Higher Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training. These plans were formulated in accordance with the organizations’ visions, missions, and main and sub-objectives, utilizing a SWOT analysis.

– Conducted a scientific study titled “The Importance of Integration among Our Three Education Systems: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Higher Education, and Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training from an Educational Strategies Perspective.” The study was published in Education Journal, Issue (28), 2008.

– Authored a scientific research paper entitled “Trends and Future Needs in Education and Learning,” published in Education Journal, Issue (30), April 2010.

– Produced a series of insightful articles under the banner “Secondary Education: Bridging the Gap between Present Realities and Future Requirements – The Imperative of Integrating General, Vocational, Technical, and Higher Education Curricula and Programs.”

– Contributed numerous articles and scholarly perspectives to esteemed newspapers and publications, including Al-Thawra (daily), 26th September (weekly), Al-Tarbiawi Magazine (monthly), Al-Safir (bi-monthly), and Education Journal (semi-annual), 2004-2010.
