*CCTLT at Sana’a University Organizes Workshop on Modern Translation Technologies*

Under the auspices of the University Rector, Prof. Mohammed Al-Bukhaiti, the Community Center for Translation and Language Teaching (CCTLT) at Sana’a University, held a specialized workshop on Thursday, titled “Utilizing Modern Technology in Interpretation: Practical Applications in Simultaneous Interpreting, Dubbing, and Subtitling Techniques.” The workshop, which was organized in collaboration with the Department of Translation at the Faculty of Languages, was designed to enhance the digital and professional competencies of postgraduate translation students and practicing translators.
During the opening session, attended by several members of the Center, Prof. Ibraheem Tagaddeen, Director of the Center, noted that the workshop is part of a broader series of high-quality initiatives aimed at keeping pace with rapid technological advancements in translation studies and strengthening the link between academic training and the evolving technical demands of the global labor market.
The workshop, delivered by professional trainer Ms. Sumaya Al-Sumayni, focused on providing 13 participants with practical skills on how to utilize modern software tools in simultaneous interpreting, dubbing, and subtitling. The workshop featured intensive practical training intended to improve translators’ proficiency in using digital technologies to ensure greater accuracy and efficiency.
Participants commended the workshop which closely addressed the practical needs of translators in today’s digital world, stressing the importance of such initiatives in enhancing their competitiveness and advancing their academic and professional skills in ways that support both their academic journey and career.
