Faculty of Medicine Quality Assurance Office Reviews WFME Accreditation Documents in Technical Workshop
Sana’a — April 5, 2026 — As part of its ongoing efforts to elevate medical education and student outcomes, Faculty of Medicine’s Quality Assurance Office hosted a technical workshop for standards committee chairs. The session focused on reviewing and auditing international academic accreditation documents for the Medicine and Surgery program, a key step in the Faculty’s ongoing preparations to meet the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) standards.
The workshop aimed to unify working methodologies among standards chairs and ensure the accuracy and completeness of supporting documents and evidence for each standard. By aligning these processes with global best practices in medical education, the faculty aims to accurately reflect the program’s performance and bolster its candidacy for international accreditation.
During the session, participants conducted a detailed review of standards matrices and mapped learning outcomes to academic curricula. They also discussed assessment models and measurement tools used to monitor both academic and clinical performance. The workshop placed a strong emphasis on systematic, evidence-based documentation and the use of measurable indicators to demonstrate continuous improvement across all areas of the educational process.
Attendees also addressed primary challenges in document preparation. Proposed solutions included standardizing templates, improving data collection mechanisms, and enhancing coordination among various medical departments to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and reliability.
