Sana’a University Faculty of Medicine Concludes Comprehensive Clinical and Oral Surgery Examinations for Class of 2026

Department of Surgery at Sana’a University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences has successfully concluded the final clinical and oral examinations for sixth-year medical students (Batch 37). Held at Kuwait University Hospital and Al-Thawra General Hospital, the exams mark a pivotal milestone in the 2025–2026 academic year.
These assessments serve as the capstone of an intensive multi-year clinical training track. The rigorous evaluation process was designed to measure students’ proficiency in applying medical theory to clinical practice, their bedside manner, diagnostic decision-making, and analytical reasoning through direct faculty viva voce (oral) sessions.
In alignment with international medical education trends, the examinations utilized modernized Objective Assessment methodologies. This framework ensures transparency, equity, and a standardized evaluation of each student’s clinical competencies as they prepare to transition into their internship year and professional medical careers.
The examination process was characterized by high-level organizational coordination between academic departments and specialized examination committees. Under the direct supervision of elite faculty members and surgical consultants, the environment was optimized to allow students to demonstrate their surgical knowledge and clinical acumen effectively.
Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, commended the organizing committees and faculty members for their pivotal role in the success of the examinations. “This achievement reflects our institutional commitment to elevating the quality of medical education,” Dr. Al-Shehari stated.
