Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Council Convenes for 10th Session of the 2025–2026 Academic Year

SANA’A – The Council of Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FMHS) at Sana’a University held its tenth monthly meeting for the academic year 2025–2026. The session was chaired by the Dean, Prof. Mohammed Al-Shehari, with the attendance of vice deans and heads of medical and scientific departments.
The meeting was honored by the presence of Prof. Ibraheem Al-Mutaa, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, who commended the faculty’s leadership and staff for their dedication. In his remarks, Prof. Al-Mutaa emphasized the necessity of reinforcing academic discipline and strictly adhering to educational regulations. He highlighted that such commitment is vital for institutional efficiency, student development, and the continuous modernization of academic programs to meet contemporary global standards.
A significant portion of the meeting focused on faculty development and academic integrity. The Board approved several faculty promotions, tenure appointments, and job status adjustments following the completion of legal requirements and departmental reviews.
In its commitment to fostering a robust research environment, the Board reviewed and approved several graduate research proposals. This included the adoption and renewal of research plans for Master’s, Ph.D., and MD programs across various departments, based on the recommendations of the Graduate Studies Committee. Additionally, the Council officially ratified the final thesis defense results for several graduate students who successfully met their scientific requirements.
The Council concluded its session by reviewing various administrative items on the agenda and officially approving the minutes of the previous ninth meeting.
The meeting involved key contributions from the faculty’s leadership, including Assoc. Prof. Adel Al-Ghayli, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies; Prof. Anwar Al-Mughalles, Vice Dean for Clinical and Hospital Affairs; Prof. Arwa Othman, Vice Dean for Student Affairs; and Prof. Ahmed Mujahed, Vice Dean for Quality Assurance. The meeting also saw the active participation of various department heads.
