Summary: 

I am an Associate Professor of Hematology, Department of Hematology, Division of Laboratory Medicine, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Sana’a University, and I teach courses in Hematology, Hemostasis and Thrombosis, Quality Assurance and Laboratory Management, Blood Bank, Biosafety &Biorisk management, and Medical Ethics for undergraduate and graduate medical laboratory students. At Sana’a University and other universities. From 2012 to 2017, I worked as the head of the Department of Applied Medical Sciences and Laboratory Medicine division at Sana’a University. I am able to work individually or as a member of a team. I am able to adapt to diverse cultural backgrounds and always maintain a high level of personal behavior.

I attended several workshops on learning and teaching, curriculum development, teaching methods, and evaluation of medical laboratory and human medicine students. I developed a medical laboratory curriculum for undergraduate students. I work as a resident and head of evaluation committees for the medical laboratory program for Yemeni universities in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance (2014 – now). I have developed a medical laboratory curriculum for undergraduate students for many universities. I developed a mobile application for biorisk management available on Google Play.

Conducting researches in the following areas: [Anemia, anemia in pregnancy, sickle cell anemia, Polycythemia, myeloid, lymphoid leukemia, and Hyperthyroidism, protein C and S in thalassemia, malaria in blood bank donors, medical waste management, and covid-19] I published 3 books and eighteen articles in a peer-review journals, locally and internationally. I participated also in local and international conferences as a speaker.

Education:

– Holds a PhD from Alexandria University – Arab Republic of Egypt (2008)

Title of PhD thesis: (Immuno-cytochemical studies of cyclin D1 and P16 protein in patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia and its relations to treatment response)

– Holds a master’s degree from Alexandria University – Arab Republic of Egypt (2003)

Title of Master’s thesis: (Effect of Roaccutane on BCL2 and some mitochondrial enzymes in acute myelogenous leukemia patients)

– Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratories sciences from Sana’a University – Yemen (1995)

Experience:

-Head of evaluation committees for the medical laboratory program for community colleges in the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training and the Supreme Executive Authority for Technical Education (2016 – now).

– A local expert and consultant and head of the committee for preparing the document of the Bachelor of Laboratory Medicine program and course descriptions for many Yemeni universities: Sana’a University – Al-Hikma University – Al-Rasheed University – Amran University – Janes University – New Generation University – Seba University (2019- until now).

-Consultant and member of the committee for preparing the document of the Bachelor of General Medicine and Surgery program, the hardware integration system (the block) for the specifications of the programs of many universities: – Al-Hikma University – Yemeni University – September 21 University (2019-till now).

– Reviewer in many local and international journals (2014- until now).

– Supervised many students in undergraduate and graduate programs (2009- until now).

– Executive Director of the project supporting the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences – Sana’a University with basic tools for medical waste management -: Supported by CRDF Global Program (Jan-Jun 2019)

– External examiner for six master’s students at the Faculty of Medicine, Hadhramout University, Yemen (September 2020).

-Participation as a trainer in biorisk management to train students of the Field Epidemiology Program at the Ministry of Health (2017 – now).

–Participation as a trainer in Hematology to train the staff of NCPHL at the Ministry of Health (2014 – now).

-Participation in medical education development workshops at the Faculty of Medicine, Sana’a University (2009 – now).

-Participation in the Fifth Cohort Field Epidemiology Conference held in Sana’a (February 28 – March 3 2022).
