Sana’a University Media Students Debut “Step of Hope” Documentary as Senior Capstone Project
SANA’A – May 13, 2026
Students from the Radio and Television Department at Sana’a University’s Faculty of Mass Communication have completed their senior graduation project: a humanitarian documentary titled “Step of Hope” (Khoutwat Amal). The film explores the vital medical and rehabilitative role of the Prosthetics and Physiotherapy Center in restoring mobility and independence to patients, the wounded, and people with disabilities.
The documentary was produced by students Abdulrahman Yahya Al-Ghabari, Abdulmalek Afash, and Adham Al-Muntaser. The project provides an in-depth look at the stages of physical therapy and the technical manufacturing of prosthetic limbs. Most notably, the film features real-life stories of individuals who successfully overcame physical challenges to reintegrate into society.
The project aims to raise public awareness regarding the importance of medical rehabilitation services and to highlight humanitarian efforts that improve quality of life. Through a sincere and community-focused lens, the film offers a documentary treatment of pressing social realities.
Following the screening, the defense committee—consisting of Prof. Mohammed Al-Faqih Kafi, Prof. Ali Hussein Al-Ammar, and Assoc. Prof. Hussein Jughman—commended the students’ work. The committee recommended final editing adjustments to address technical feedback before the documentary is officially archived in the department’s library.
