Media Campaign Promoting University Inclusion for Students with Disabilities Receives Widespread Acclaim

The Faculty of Communication at Sana’a University hosted the defense of a distinguished senior capstone project by students from the Department of Public Relations and Advertising. The project featured a public awareness campaign titled, “The Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Higher Education: Challenges and Solutions,” drawing a notable audience of academics and media professionals.
Through various media activations, the campaign highlighted the primary obstacles to effective inclusion for students with disabilities within the university environment. It offered a series of practical solutions, proposals, and actionable recommendations aimed at lowering these barriers and expanding equal educational opportunities.
The evaluation committee and attendees lauded the project’s concept and deliverables, praising its rigorous academic framework and realistic approach to a vital social issue.
The defense committee featured academic advisor Dr. Mahdi Haidar, Prof. Abdulrahim Al-Shawri (Chair of the Department of Public Relations), and Dr. Hatem Al-Salhi. The defense was attended by Dr. Omar Daer Al-Bukhaiti, Dean of the Faculty, alongside filmmaker Ibrahim Al-Abyad, Dr. Khaled Omar, and a large turnout of university staff and students.
This initiative reflects the Faculty‘s dedication to its academic and civic mission, preparing future communications professionals to champion humanitarian causes using influential, professional strategies.
