Continuation of the Training Program Activities in Occupational, Environmental Health and Safety at the Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources
Activities of the training program “Occupational, Environmental Health and Safety” continued today, Sunday. The program is organized by the Department of Environmental Sciences at the Faculty of Petroleum and Natural Resources, in coordination with the Quality Management Administration and in cooperation with the Arab Institute for Safety Sciences, as part of the semester activity plan for the academic year 2026–2027.
The program witnessed remarkable attendance and interaction from the participants. Today’s sessions covered several core topics related to the concepts of occupational, environmental health and safety, as well as the importance of implementing preventive measures across various work environments.
Additionally, the sessions introduced occupational hazards and the methods for identifying and assessing them in accordance with best practices and accredited standards.
The program also included discussions and practical applications aimed at developing participants’ skills in dealing with potential hazards and promoting a culture of prevention and proper emergency response, thereby contributing to a safer working and educational environment.
The implementation of this program aligns with the faculty’s commitment to qualifying its students and staff scientifically and professionally. It seeks to establish a culture of occupational health and safety as a fundamental requirement for working in the fields of environmental sciences, geosciences, and petroleum and natural gas engineering, ultimately enhancing graduates’ readiness to meet labor market requirements according to modern professional standards.
The program activities are scheduled to continue until Wednesday, August 12, 2026, featuring a series of lectures and practical activities aimed at developing the participants’ knowledge and skills in the fields of occupational and environmental health and safety.
