Faculty of Science at Sana’a University Concludes Specialized Training Course on “Applied Chemistry of Pesticides”

Under the auspices of the Presidency of Sana’a University and the Deanship of the Faculty of Science, the faculty’s Community Service Unit, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Plant Protection, concluded on Wednesday the specialized training course titled “Applied Chemistry of Pesticides: Principles of General Plant Protection.”
The course aimed to develop the participants’ skills and deepen their understanding of the scientific foundations related to the safe and effective use of chemical pesticides. It also sought to enhance community and academic awareness regarding the importance of plant protection in safeguarding human health and the environment, in accordance with the latest scientific standards and practices in applied chemistry.
The training program featured a series of theoretical lectures and practical applications highlighting pesticide classifications, chemical analysis methods, and their mechanisms of action on plants and agricultural pests. Additionally, it reviewed modern protection methods and environmental risk management strategies.
The scientific and practical sessions were conducted and facilitated by a distinguished group of academics and specialists, including Ms. Shahrzad Al-Hazoura, Ms. Noor Al-Asadi, and Ms. Amal Al-Absi, who provided the participants with invaluable scientific and practical expertise, significantly enriching the training program and maximizing the trainees’ benefit.
