Sana’a University’s Faculties of Languages and Physical Education Celebrate Prophet Mohammed’s Birth Anniversary and Honor Top Students

The Faculty of Languages and the Faculty of Physical Education at Sana’a University today celebrated the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammed’s birth (al-Mawlid al-Nabawi al-Sharif) through a joint event honoring the top-performing students of the 1447 AH / 2025–2026 academic year and welcoming newly admitted students. The event was organized in cooperation with the University Student Forum, in the presence of Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, the University Rector, and the Deans of the two faculties, Dr. Mohammed Al-Nasser and Dr. Abdulghani Mutahar.
In his address, Prof. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Bukhaiti, the University Rector, noted that commemorating the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammed’s birth offers an opportunity to draw inspiration from prophetic values in the pursuit of knowledge and in professional life, while reinforcing the principles of dedication, discipline, and diligence. He noted that these values contribute to preparing qualified academic professionals capable of serving society and contributing to development.
The University Rector also emphasized that honoring outstanding students reflects Sana’a University’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and its belief that investing in scientific capacities is a fundamental pillar for building the University’s future and enhancing the quality of its educational and research outcomes.
Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Nasser, Dean of the Faculty of Languages, welcomed the attendees in his address and emphasized that celebrating the Prophet Mohammed’s birth helps reinforce faith and ethical values among students. He explained that honoring the top-performing students recognizes their academic excellence and encourages them to maintain their high level of achievement. He also highlighted the importance of welcoming newly admitted students and strengthening their sense of belonging to the University, reaffirming the Faculty’s continued efforts to provide an educational environment that encourages creativity and excellence.
For his part, Dr. Abdulghani Mutahar, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, said that commemorating the Prophet Mohammed’s birth represents an educational opportunity to reinforce prophetic values in university conduct and daily life. He emphasized that recognizing top-performing students reflects a culture of appreciation for achievement and excellence and encourages positive competition among students, thereby contributing to stronger academic performance and the development of university graduates capable of making meaningful contributions and demonstrating creativity.
Held at the Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Maqaleh Hall at the Faculty of Languages, the event featured several nasheed operettas that reflected the spirit and celebratory atmosphere of the occasion. It also included a poem by poet Ahmed Al-Junaid, which addressed aspects of the Prophet’s biography and the significance of the occasion. The event was attended by the Vice Deans of both faculties, faculty members, administrative staff, and a large number of students.
In his address, Mr. Osama Al-Mohatwari highlighted several meanings associated with the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammed’s birth, discussing aspects of his life and conduct and the values and meanings that the occasion represents in Muslims’ lives.
In his address, Mr. Ahmed Al-Shahwani, representing the University Student Forum, highlighted the Forum’s interest in student and cultural activities and its participation in organizing events and programs aimed at strengthening students’ engagement in various University activities.
At the conclusion of the event, the University Rector, together with the Deans of the Faculties of Languages and Physical Education, honored the top-performing students by presenting them with certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields. The ceremony reflected Sana’a University’s commitment to honoring outstanding students, fostering a culture of academic excellence, and encouraging creativity and achievement.
