Sana’a, Yemen — Third-year students from the Department of Animal Resources have successfully completed the cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of the layer poultry houses at the Faculty Farm. These efforts are part of the strategic preparations to receive a new flock of layer chicks for the 2026 Summer Training Program. The initiative was carried out under the direct supervision of Dr. Khaled Al-Maqtari, Head of the Animal Production Department, with oversight from Dr. Abdulwali Al-Aghbari. They were assisted by Teaching Assistants Eng. Jamal Al-Qudami and Eng. Zainab Dammaj, who ensured that the facilities meet the highest standards to provide an optimal environment for both the poultry and the students’ practical application. During the site work, students expressed their appreciation to Mr. Ahmed Al-Yasani, Director of the Teaching Farm, for his continuous support and mentorship. Al-Yasani played a vital role in motivating the team and implementing technical adjustments that improved the efficiency of the preparation process.
This activity aligns with the department’s commitment to bridging the gap between theory and practice. By engaging in hands-on farm management, students gain the essential field experience required for professional excellence in poultry husbandry and agricultural management.
