Academic Departments Conduct Joint Field Visit with Second-Year Students

SANA’A— To enhance the practical aspects of the educational process, the Department of Horticulture and its Technologies, the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Modern Technologies, and the Department of Agricultural Economics, Extension, and Cooperation at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment conducted a joint field visit with second-year students.
The activity focused on the design components of a model fruit orchard. Students received practical training on determining appropriate agricultural spacing between trees, preparing for planting apple trees according to scientific principles that ensure optimal growth and future productivity.
During the field visit, students were accompanied by an academic cadre of faculty members led by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, alongside Engineer Elias Mane’, Ms. Taysir Al-Sanhani, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Mazaal, Engineer Akram Al-Jawfi, and Engineer Mohammed Hamid. The faculty supervised the field operations and provided technical and scientific guidance throughout the design and preparation stages. The field visit also included preparing holes for tree planting in the model field, marking the site’s readiness to begin planting operations in the coming period. This activity reflects the Faculty’s efforts to strengthen integration among academic departments, linking theory with practical application, and equipping students with the field skills required to keep pace with modern agricultural work.
