Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment Launches Apple Orchard Planning and Layout Project for Horticulture Field Training

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at Sana’a University officially launched the field planning and preparation work for a new apple orchard. This project is executed within the framework of practical application and hands-on field training for third-year undergraduate students majoring in Horticulture and Agricultural Technologies, and was attended by several members of the academic faculty.
The field operations were carried out under the direct supervision of Engineer Elias Manea and Engineer Tayseer Al-Sanhani. Students actively participated in executing engineering layouts and preparing the orchard site according to approved technical specifications, paving the way for subsequent planting and crop management phases.
This activity is a core component of the practical curriculum implemented by the Faculty to bridge theoretical knowledge with fieldwork. It equips students with vital vocational skills in establishing and managing fruit orchards, thereby cultivating highly qualified agricultural professionals.
The Dean praised the high level of engagement and discipline demonstrated by the students during the field operations. He reaffirmed the Faculty’s commitment to reinforcing field training as a foundational pillar of its educational model, recognizing its critical role in expanding student capabilities to match modern job market demands. Third-year horticulture students are scheduled to continue a series of practical applications across the Faculty’s educational farms and research orchards.
