Department of Agricultural Engineering Launches Specialized Workshop on Modern Irrigation Systems

The Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment launched a specialized training workshop titled “Design and Implementation of Modern Irrigation Networks: From Engineering Design to Field Application.” Organized by the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Modern Technologies in coordination with the Student Forum, the practical course aims to bridge theoretical design and field execution.
Day one focused on hands-on workshop training, where participants learned to identify, select, and install key components of modern irrigation networks while honing baseline technical skills for field applications.
Led by lead instructor Eng. Abdul-Latif Al-Washali and supported by departmental engineering staff, the initiative aligns with the Faculty’s strategy to bolster applied learning and prepare graduates for competitive job markets.
The workshop will continue next week with direct field applications at the university farm, allowing students to implement their design and technical skills in a live environment.
