Sana’a – Wednesday, April 29, 2026
As part of the summer training program at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment, the Department of Agricultural Engineering and Modern Technologies, in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture, organized a field visit to a typical hydroponic farm (Manaba Yemen Al-Khairat), with the aim of introducing students to modern agricultural methods and technologies used in hydroponic systems.
During the visit, students learned about environmental control mechanisms in agricultural production, modern irrigation systems, and efficient water utilization techniques for producing higher-quality crops in shorter timeframes. They also received a detailed explanation from a specialized engineer on the operation of hydroponic systems, closed-loop water cycles, pH and nutrient measurement devices, and the role of these technologies in increasing productivity and optimizing water consumption.
This visit stands as part of efforts to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application and to equip students with modern skills aligned with advancements in the agricultural sector, which enhances their readiness for the labor market.
