SANA’A, YEMEN — July 20, 2026 — Senior students in the Plant Protection Department conducted a practical laboratory experiment today as part of their Pesticide Toxicology course, focusing on measuring pesticide efficacy and insect responses under controlled experimental conditions.
The experiment involved treating target insects with designated chemical agents under controlled laboratory environments. Students systematically observed insect responses, tracked mortality and physiological changes, and benchmarked their findings against established scientific criteria to better understand the mode-of-action principles and safe handling protocols of agricultural chemicals.
The hands-on application provided students with essential practical skills in conducting laboratory trials, recording observational data, and analyzing efficacy metrics needed to address real-world agricultural challenges.
This activity is part of the department’s practical curriculum, which aims to prepare qualified professionals equipped with both scientific knowledge and applied expertise to meet agricultural sector demands and advance plant protection practices.
