Fourth-year students in the Department of Horticulture Science and its Techniques at the Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment conducted a practical lab exercise on the health status of greenhouse seedlings as part of the Horticultural Pests and Diseases course, accompanied by teaching assistant Eng. Ali Al-Qadhi.
The activity involved close inspection of seedlings to identify key disease symptoms and plant pathology issues, particularly root rot and fungal infections, and their impact on overall foliage and plant growth.
Students received practical guidance regarding the proper application of fertilizers and pesticides, emphasizing the selection of appropriate treatments based on plant health and specific pathogens to enhance their field diagnosis and problem-solving skills rooted in scientific principles.
This practical session reflects the faculty’s commitment to reinforcing hands-on learning, connecting theoretical concepts with field applications, and equipping students with necessary skills to manage horticultural pests and diseases in greenhouse environments.
