Dean's Message

Faculty of Education, Humanities, and Applied Sciences—Khawlan

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds, and blessings and peace be upon the noblest of prophets and messengers, our Prophet Mohammad, and upon his pure and righteous family.

To our esteemed teaching staff, administrative staff, students, and guests,

I extend a warm welcome to the Faculty of Education, Humanities, and Applied Sciences—Khawlan.

At our faculty, we believe that the student is at the core of the educational process, representing its essence and the ultimate purpose of its existence. Our primary objective is to prepare students to overcome the challenges of both the present and the future. We strive to achieve this by equipping our graduates with theoretical knowledge, practical experience, and positive behaviors. We aim to empower them to utilize these skills to not only enhance their own personal growth but also contribute to the development of their communities.

To accomplish this, we are committed to providing high-quality education that adheres to international standards. We continuously work on enhancing the level of academic services we offer to our students. Moreover, under the guidance of the university’s leadership, we constantly strive to improve and develop our academic programs to align them with the ever-evolving demands of the labor market.

Furthermore, our faculty, in accordance with its strategic plan, is dedicated to expanding its program offerings to better serve the region and meet the demands of the local and regional labor market. We also encourage our exceptional teaching staff and students to actively contribute to the creation of knowledge, ensuring that our graduates are equipped with the necessary skills for innovation, leadership, and making a positive impact in their respective fields and communities.

Since its establishment in the academic year 1997/1998, by the decision of the university rector No. 421 of 1997, our faculty, initially known as the “Faculty of Education, Arts, and Sciences—Khawlan,” has been one of the faculties affiliated with Sana’a University. We started with seven departments across three faculties (Education, Arts, and Sciences), and we are constantly striving to establish new departments that cater to the evolving needs of our community, aligning with our faculty’s mission and aims.

Subsequently, the faculty’s name was changed to “Faculty of Education, Humanities, and Applied Sciences—Khawlan” by the decision of the University Rector No. 404 of 2019. At present, we proudly offer a total of fourteen academic departments across our three faculties.

It is our firm belief that our faculty plays a crucial role in nurturing a strong sense of identity, belonging, and love for our country. We place great emphasis on preserving and promoting our Yemeni identity, fostering pride and loyalty towards our heritage, particularly during these challenging times when Yemen faces external aggression that seeks to change our religious and cultural identity.

In conclusion, we humbly pray to Allah Almighty to safeguard our homeland and our people from all harm. May Allah grant success to me and all the dedicated staff of this faculty in our collective efforts to advance and excel in our academic endeavors.
