Sport Motivation and Emotions and How to Manage Them

Faculty of Physical Education at Sana’a University continues to deliver the Sport Psychology course to second-year students, taught by Dr. Samir Massed Jamil as part of the academic plan for the 1447 AH / 2025–2026 academic year. The continuation of these lectures reflects the College’s commitment to strengthening students’ scientific and practical competencies, and to deepening their understanding of the psychological factors that influence athletic performance.
The course has garnered notable engagement from students due to its applied content, which addresses topics such as athletes’ motivation, emotional regulation, confidence enhancement, and mental preparation strategies prior to competitions. Dr. Samir Massed Jamil’s academic approach contributes to clarifying key concepts and linking them to practical realities in sports settings.
The College emphasizes that offering this course aligns with ongoing efforts to improve students’ academic and professional competencies in accordance with the needs of the sports labor market. It aims to prepare graduates capable of applying psychological principles in various fields, including coaching, officiating, and sports management.
