Master’s Degree Awarded to Ms. Amani Al-Radfani ‎in International Development

Ms. Amani Fadl Abdulmajeed Al-Radfani‎ was awarded a Master’s Degree in  International Development with an excellent grade for her thesis titled: The Role of Multimedia in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Development Programs in the Small and Micro Enterprise Promotion Service, which was submitted to the Inclusive Development Research Center – Sana’a University. The MA defense was held on Monday, March 2, 2026.

 

The MA Viva-voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

1 Prof. Saleh Mohammed Hameed,‎ Internal Examiner,  Chair.
2 Dr. Aqeel Abdullah Al-Sermi, ‎ ‎ Main Supervisor, Member.
3 Assoc. Prof. Nabil Mohammed Al-Ulofi, ‎ ‎ External Examiner,  Member.

The thesis aimed to:

  • Examine the role of multimedia in enhancing the effectiveness of development ‎programs implemented by the Small and Micro Enterprise Promotion Service.‎
  • Measure its contribution to achieving the agency’s objectives.‎
  • Identify the tools used and the most influential multimedia elements in its media content.

The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:

  • A high level of multimedia utilization was found in development campaigns, as reflected in ‎strong relative weights and high mean scores.‎
  • Short videos and illustrative graphics were highly effective in simplifying concepts ‎and enhancing audience engagement, receiving the highest evaluations.‎
  • A diversity of tools was employed, including images, videos, infographics, and ‎interactive content, reflecting a multi-dimensional media strategy.‎
  • The use of colors, animation, and motion graphics was strategically designed to support ‎communication objectives and facilitate understanding of complex information.‎

In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:‎

  • Enhancing interactive content by developing more engaging and user-friendly tools, ‎such as interactive storytelling formats and visual polls.‎
  • Organizing training workshops for media teams on understanding social media ‎platform algorithms and optimizing content visibility.‎
  • Conducting qualitative studies to analyze audience preferences and tailor content ‎‎
  • Adopting digital performance indicators to measure impact, such as reach, ‎engagement, and sharing rates.‎
  • Promoting a culture of innovation within media teams by experimenting with new ‎content formats and regularly testing their effectiveness.‎

The defense session was attended by a number of academics, researchers, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
