PhD Degree Awarded to Mr. Hussein Abubakr in International Development

Mr. Hussein Abubakr Mohammed Abubakr was awarded a PhD degree in International Development for his dissertation titled: The Impact of Management Information Systems on Improving Institutional Performance in Civil Society Organizations – Republic of Yemen, which was submitted to the Inclusive Development Research Center – Sana’a University. The dissertation defense was held on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
The PhD Viva-Voce Committee, which was formed based on a resolution issued by the Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Council, consisted of the following:

The dissertation aimed to:

The study yielded several key findings summarized as follows:
- The organizations under study demonstrated a strong interest in improving institutional performance across its various dimensions, with a greater focus on the customer dimension.
- There is notable attention to the adoption of management information systems, particularly in terms of hardware and equipment.
In light of these findings, the researcher recommended the following:
- Enhancing efforts to improve institutional performance, particularly in the financial
- Increasing attention to the development of human resources within the framework of management information systems.
The dissertation defense was attended by a number of academics, researchers, and specialists, students, colleagues, and the researcher’s family.
