*Sana’a University Higher Scientific Research Committee Approves Scientific Publication Incentives*

The Higher Scientific Research Committee at Sana’a University held today, Sunday, its fifth regular meeting for the 2025–2026 academic year, chaired by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Chairman of the Committee, Prof. Ibrahim Ahmed Al-Muta’a, with the attendance of committee members.

At the outset of the meeting, Prof. Al-Muta’a emphasized the importance of continuing to develop the university’s scientific research system in line with international academic standards, in a manner that strengthens the university’s role in serving society and contributing to development. He also stressed the need to support researchers and encourage high-quality scientific output.

During the meeting, the committee listened to a scientific seminar presented by one of the top students from the Faculty of Dentistry – Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, who reviewed the key findings of his research published in the international Scopus database, as part of the requirements for appointment as a teaching assistant at the faculty.

The committee also discussed a number of requests submitted by faculty members regarding eligibility for scientific publication incentives, within the framework of the university’s efforts to encourage researchers and promote publication in internationally indexed and peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Following the discussions, the committee approved scientific publication incentives for a number of faculty members in recognition of their research contributions and efforts in enhancing the university’s scientific output and strengthening its academic and research presence.

In a related context, the committee approved the regulations and standards governing the research papers submitted by master’s students at the Faculty of Engineering, which are scheduled to be published within the proceedings of the faculty’s First Scientific Conference (IDEASET), to be held from 1st – 2nd December, 2026.

This comes in preparation for republishing the research papers in the university Journal of Applied Sciences and Technology (SUJAST), contributing to the fulfillment of graduation requirements and the attainment of master’s degrees, in accordance with the University Council’s decision.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Abdo Alkelly, General Supervisor of Sana’a University’s three scientific journals.

The meeting comes within the framework of Sana’a University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen scientific production and enhance its academic and research standing at the regional and international levels.
