Signing Technical Support Agreement Between Sana’a University and Council of Accreditation & Quality Assurance to Obtain Full Program Accreditation
Sana’a, Yemen – August 8, 2024
Sana’a University Rector, Prof. Al-Kasem Mohammed Abass, signed an agreement on Thursday, August 8, 2024, with the Council of Accreditation and Quality Assurance (CAQA) to secure technical support for accrediting all programs across the University colleges. The agreement encompasses both institutional accreditation for colleges with multiple programs and programmatic accreditation for those with a single program.
This significant step follows the University’s recent achievement of obtaining the prestigious Gold Program Accreditation for its Medicine and Surgery Program and Dentistry Program, as well as international accreditation for several medical science programs. These accomplishments represent the culmination of five years of dedicated work, initiated in the academic year 2019, which involved program specification, evaluation, and extensive faculty training. With this new agreement in place, the University is well-positioned to achieve full program accreditation by the end of 2024.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Prof. Abdul Aziz Al-Shuaibi, the Council’s Secretary-General, Dr. Mohammed Dhaifallah, and the Director of the Development and Quality Assurance Center, Prof. Huda Al-Emad, along with representatives from both institutions.
