Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences Council Discusses Infrastructure Development, Opens Bridging Program Admissions, and Approves Graduation Lists of Third Batch

The Council of the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences at Sana’a University held its regular meeting today, chaired by Professor Dr. Khalid Saad Al-Khamisi, Dean of the Faculty, and attended by the heads of academic departments and Council members. The meeting addressed a number of academic and administrative matters included on its agenda.
The Council reviewed several issues related to the development of the educational process and enhancement of academic and administrative performance, and adopted the necessary decisions and recommendations accordingly.
The Council discussed a proposal submitted by the Faculty Secretary concerning the continued development and upgrading of the educational and training infrastructure, including laboratories, classrooms, facilities, and training equipment, in line with the needs of academic programs and recent developments in the health sciences and professions.
The Council emphasized the importance of establishing development priorities based on actual needs to ensure optimal utilization of available resources and improve the educational and training environment for students.
The Council also discussed the importance of expanding communication and coordination channels with hospitals, healthcare facilities, and training centers, and strengthening frameworks for cooperation and partnership with them. Such efforts would provide students with appropriate clinical training environments, bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and professional practice, and contribute to enhancing the competence of graduates.
With regard to the admission of students to bridging programs, the Council discussed the admission mechanisms and procedures for the Anesthesia, Radiology and Diagnostic Medical Imaging, and Physiotherapy programs, as well as the completion of coordination and admission procedures in accordance with the regulations, requirements, and rules governing the approved bridging system as prescribed by the competent authorities.
The Council approved the graduation lists of the third batch for the 2025/2026 academic year in the specializations of Anesthesia, Radiology and Diagnostic Medical Imaging, Physiotherapy, and Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, in preparation for completing the relevant academic and administrative procedures.
The Council also reviewed a number of other academic and administrative matters and issues included on its agenda and adopted the appropriate decisions and recommendations in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Khalid Saad Al-Khamisi, Dean of the Faculty, affirmed the Faculty administration’s commitment to continuing to enhance academic and administrative performance, improve the quality of education and its outcomes, modernize the educational and training infrastructure, and strengthen partnerships with healthcare and training institutions.
He underscored the importance of carefully and systematically expanding postgraduate programs and developing academic programs in line with modern academic standards and the needs of the labor market and healthcare sector.Such efforts, he noted, would strengthen the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences’ role in preparing qualified healthcare professionals capable of making effective contributions to the development of healthcare services and scientific research.
