Sana’a University Faculty of Medicine and Central Laboratory Prepare for 6th Laboratory Medicine Conference

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University held an extensive preparatory meeting today in anticipation of the 6th Scientific Conference on Laboratory Medicine, scheduled for November 2026. Held in partnership with the National Central Public Health Laboratories, the conference will take place under the auspices of Sana’a University, the Ministry of Health and Environment, and the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.
The meeting was chaired by Dean Prof. Mohammed Mohammed Al-Shehari, with the attendance of Vice Dean for Student Affairs Prof. Arwa Othman, Director General of the National Central Laboratory Dr. Abdullah Al-Harazi, and operational specialists from both institutions.
Discussions focused on executive plans, academic and technical workflows, and logistical arrangements. The committee reviewed progress reports from subcommittees and established frameworks for receiving and evaluating research papers from local and regional academic institutions.
Dean Al-Shehari underscored the conference’s scientific value, emphasizing that laboratory medicine serves as a fundamental pillar for clinical decision-making and precise treatment planning. He noted that the event aims to bridge academic research with applied clinical practice, addressing key diagnostic challenges facing the healthcare sector.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Harazi highlighted the importance of the partnership with Sana’a University, stating that the conference will provide a scientific platform to examine modern diagnostic technologies, laboratory quality assurance standards, and empirical studies focused on diagnostic service development.
The meeting concluded with the approval of several organizational measures to accelerate preparations, ensuring the conference aligns with Sana’a University’s academic standing and yields practical recommendations to enhance healthcare services.
