Second-Year Medical Students at Sana’a University Complete Final Practical Exam in Musculoskeletal System

In line with its academic plan to evaluate the professional and practical outcomes of medical students, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sana’a University conducted the final practical examinations for the “Musculoskeletal System” module today for second-year students (Batch 43).
The examinations took place in the faculty’s Biochemistry Laboratory, an advanced educational and research facility equipped with modern laboratory technology. The facility enables students to perform biochemical experiments and assays essential for understanding metabolic reactions and molecular processes, particularly those involving the structure and biological function of muscles, bones, and connective tissues.
The testing process proceeded smoothly under the supervision of faculty members and teaching assistants from the Department of Biochemistry. The final practical assessment stations focused on evaluating student proficiency in operating advanced laboratory equipment, utilizing quantitative and qualitative analytical tools, and conducting assays to detect musculoskeletal biomarkers. Evaluation criteria also emphasized the precise reading of results, graphical curve analysis, laboratory interpretation, and clinical correlation with conditions such as osteoporosis, rickets, and myopathies.
Faculty leadership emphasized that the Musculoskeletal Biochemistry module serves as a cornerstone for understanding the molecular and cellular foundations of bone and muscle health and disease. The final practical exam aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical laboratory application.
