*Sana’a – Sunday, August 23, 2026*
Students from the Faculty of Mass Communication conducted a field visit to Delta FM radio station (101.7 FM) as part of a practical assignment for the “Yemeni Media” course, taught by Dr. Samia Al-Aghbari. The visit aimed to provide students with a close-up look at the radio broadcast environment, the stages of program preparation and hosting, and the integration of academic knowledge with hands-on practice.
During the visit, the students met with Radio Director Mr. Zaid Fayea and were introduced to the inner workings of the broadcasting institution. They also learned from the professional experiences of radio presenter Naseem and media professional Talal, gaining practical insights into program production, presenting, and radio journalism practice.
The field trip included a practical session in audio engineering, where students engaged in hands-on training alongside the station’s sound engineer. They explored voice recording mechanisms, audio control techniques, and the vital role audio engineering plays in producing radio programming at professional standards.
The students emphasized that the visit was a rich educational experience that bridged theoretical study and practical application. It enhanced their understanding of radio production skills and broadened their awareness of professional media practices within broadcasting organizations, while the warm reception and cooperation from the staff contributed significantly to the visit’s success.
At the conclusion of the visit, the students expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the management and team at Delta FM, led by Radio Director Mr. Zaid Fayea, for their hospitality and for providing the opportunity to gain firsthand exposure to the radio industry.
