Scientific Visit of Mineral Resources Students to Al-Ra’ebi Granite and Marble Company

Within the framework of the Deanship of the College of Petroleum and Natural Resources’ keenness to enhance student visits and link theoretical aspects with practical application, the Department of Mineral Resources and Rocks organized a scientific visit for third-level students to Al-Ra’ebi Granite and Marble Company on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Al-Anwa.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the mineral and rock resources possessed by the Republic of Yemen, which are considered among the most important national assets, and how to utilize and invest them in the industrial sector to contribute to enhancing reliance on national industry and encouraging local products. The visit also sought to enable students to identify the unique geological characteristics of Yemeni rocks.
During the visit, the students observed the various stages of rock extraction processes from different regions of the Republic of Yemen and the mechanisms of their transportation, in addition to the shaping and decoration processes for several types of rocks using modern equipment, which is considered a fundamental stage in transforming stone blocks into usable final products. These rocks include granite, marble, limestone, and basalt, along with other high-quality types that reflect the great potential of this vital sector, providing students with an integrated practical understanding that links what they study theoretically with what they witness on the ground.
The delegation was received by the factory staff, who showed great interest in the students and provided a comprehensive explanation of the nature of work within the factory and the various production stages, emphasizing the importance of these visits in preparing and qualifying national cadres.
